10-Day Aromatherapy Workshop
Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Explore your surroundings from where you’re sitting. The first thing that may hit you is scent – the smell of a cup of coffee, laundry, food nearby, the shampoo you use. Scent is something that we largely use for enjoyment these days. Can you imagine a time when it was used to track illness, track animals and find medicine?
The olfactory glands are part of your digestive system as well as linked to your sinuses. You’ve probably experienced the disappointment of having a bad cold and being unable to taste the soup you’re eating. Did you know that it’s also the closest link to the limbic brain, the part of the brain that first emerged in the earliest mammals? The limbic brain controls memory, decision making, value judgments and emotion. Scent is linked with this ancient knowing. It’s the crossover of the emotional and the physical, the duality of mind and body.
Vedic scholars who first developed Ayurveda thousands of years ago took this knowing and paired it with the odorous gases that they were able to distill from certain plants to catalog the therapeutic effects of essential oils. This early chemistry was reflected in the elements, allowing practitioners to settle imbalance in the body powerfully through oil formulas and protocols.
DeAnna Batdorff invites you to get to know this holistic way of utilizing concentrated plant medicine by learning the elemental categories of essential oils and how to strategically blend formulations and protocols in her 10-day workshop, Ayurvedic Aromatherapy. The course takes place March 22 through 26 and then March 29 through April 2. The class meets from 11 am to 6 pm each day. Please call Honey or Andrea at 707-823-8818 ext. 108 to learn more or secure your place in this deeply informative workshop.
