DeAnna Batdorff is the founder of the dhyana Center, as well as its primary educator and practitioner. She has also created a full line of the finest quality self-care and spa products . DeAnna practices Ayurveda and Clinical Aromatherapy , and integrates both types of alternative medicine throughout all products, services and educational endeavors. She has over 12 years of clinical experience in Estiology, Herbalogy, Aromatherapy , Whole Food Nutrition, Childbirth Support, and Auto-Immune Conditions.

The dhyana Center was born from a desire to educate people about how the body functions and what can be done to stay healthy. The philosophy of Ayurveda is a unique approach that provides specific individualized information about health. By utilizing the elements (Hot, Cold, Wet, and Dry) and the Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) balance can be achieved. We are committed to providing a comfortable and educational atmosphere where everyone has the opportunity to heal, learn and grow.

Philosophy

dhyana Center's Ayurvedic practitioners blend the philosophy of Ayurveda with the application of Medicinal Aromatherapy to create a unique and individualized approach to health care. We offer both Ayurvedic Education Certification Programs and Pancha Karma and other Ayurvedic treatments and bodywork at our Sebastopol Retreat in Sonoma County, Northern California. DeAnna lovingly credits the many teachers and life experiences that have guided her on her path. Especially deserving of mention are Michael Tierra, Marcel Lavabre, and Dr. Lopsang Rapgay (a Tibetan monk who helped create a foundation for in-depth pulse assessment ), Swami Niranjanada Paramahansa (who provided the opportunity to do clinical work at the Bihar School of Yoga in India), and Dr. Lad (with whom she became certified as an Ayurvedic practitioner ).
